At least 27 people were injured on an Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Bangkok, Monday after the plane hit severe turbulence some 40 minutes before it landed in Thailand's capital.
Footage from inside the plane shortly after the incident showed people lying and sitting on the ground where they had been thrown from their seats.
None of the injured were in a serious condition though many were treated in hospital in Bangkok for broken or fractured bones.
Aeroflot said the turbulence occurred in a “clear sky” meaning they could not predict it and pre-warn passengers to put their seatbelts on.
According to a statement issued by the Russian embassy in Thailand, 24 of the injured were Russian nationals while the other three were Thai citizens.
