Maricopa County Sheriff's Office released footage on Friday of an attack against four detention officers by an inmate at Lower Buckeye Jail in Phoenix, Wednesday. The released CCTV footage shows 18-year old minimum security inmate, who is housed in the psychiatric ward, walking in an unauthorised area of the housing pod. Police officers approached the inmate and told him to return to his cell, when the inmate began striking the officers. According to a statement released by the Sheriff's Office, the staff then proceeded to taser the man four times. The incident left four officers injured. One officer was knocked unconscious and remains in serious condition. The Sheriff's Office have said they plan to file an assault case against the inmate, which they have declined to identify by name.
