Thirty-three years after the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster, the access to the ghost town of Pripyat in Ukraine is still restricted, so join Ruptly on a bird's eye view tour and soar over the deserted town.
The drone footage filmed on Saturday, shows abandoned houses and parks, as well as the infamous reactor, where the 1986 catastrophe happened.
The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is an area that was exposed to radiation as a result of an accident at Chernobyl's number four reactor on 26 April 1986. The exclusion zone includes parts of the Polesskiy and Ivankovskiy districts of the Kiev region and the Pripyat River. The immediate death toll from the accident itself numbered 31, while thousands have since suffered radiation-related illnesses, such as cancer and infant deformities.
