The Hermitage Museum's very own felines will have to get used to more modest accommodation after the museum began to give them away in St. Petersburg, Friday. The city's world-famous museum has to let some of its famous four-legged friends leave due to a slight over-crowding problem. The felines have been at the museum for hundreds of years to protect priceless artwork against rodents. They were even granted official status by Catherine the Great as 'Guardians of the Picture Galleries'. They are currently featured on a website for those wanting to adopt the felines.
