Several hundred people marched against one of the biggest refugee camps in Bulgaria, near the south-eastern town of Harmanli on Sunday. The Bulgarian National Movement organisation lead a protest against the authorities' planned expansion of the refugee camp.
Member of the European parliament Angel Dzhambazki spoke at the protest, declaring that "the new-comers behind me are not welcome here, they are not desired here, they have no place in Bulgaria."
Protesters demanded better security measures in the region, and better police control over the refugee camp following a mass fight at the site last week.
Despite a heavy police presence, the protest was carried out peacefully.
