Despite being in the process of rehabilitation at the Yekaterinburg’s Animal Recovery Centre, Jack the mini-pig was still struggling to minimise his anger levels in the Sverdlovsk region, Tuesday, after his owners gave him away for growing not only too large, but too aggressive.
The animal, weighing in at 37 kilos (81lbs), was handed over to the shelter after it repeatedly attacked its owners, who reportedly over-fed him to the extent that they could not control the animal anymore. After a series of unprovoked aggressive incidents, Jack was sent to the Yekaterinburg centre for anger management.
Since moving to the recovery centre, staff have said that though Jack can be slightly aggressive on occasion, his temperament is much improved. Elizaveta Skorynina, head of the Animal Recovery Centre said that “it is possible to re-educate him” but “it needs other conditions that we are not able to provide.”
