Russia: Terminator-2 tank support combat vehicle goes on display at RAE-2015

One of Russia’s biggest arms manufacturers, the Uralvagonzavod corporation, displayed heavy armoured vehicles at the Russia Arms Expo 2015 (RAE-2015) in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk oblast, on Wednesday Among the vehicles on display were the BMPT-72 Terminator, a fire support combat vehicle, and the BMPT-72 Terminator-2, a tank support combat vehicle. Multiple rocket launchers and the thermobaric TOS-1 rocket launcher were also put on display. Uralvagonzavod is a research and production corporation that was founded in 1936. The company is also the leading domestic designer and manufacturer of freight railway cars. The RAE-2015 exhibition is organised by the Russian Defence Ministry, the Russian Military-Industrial Commission and the Russian state arms export agency 'Rosoboronexport'. The aim of RAE-2015 is to promote Russian military equipment to domestic and foreign markets and demonstrate the latest achievements of Russian and foreign arms manufacturers. The exhibition runs until September 12 and is expected to attract over 20,000 visitors. RAE is one of the largest international weapons expos and has been held every two years in the Sverdlovsk oblast since 1999.
