A southern elephant seal was found resting approximately 700 metres (2296 ft) from the Rio de la Plata in Samborombon, footage released on Friday shows. The Community Police Punta Indio were called in along with rangers from Refuge Bay Wildlife, directing the humongous aquatic mammal to the nearby water. Weighing approximately 600 kgs (1322 lbs) and nearly three metres in length, the rangers also ensured the seal was safe from curious dogs and local farm animals including cows and bulls.
