Kia unveiled its brand new Stonic SUV at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show on Tuesday, with the purpose of further lowering emissions.
Michael Kali, a representative of the company, said, "In 2017, KIA has sold more than seven times as many eco-cars compared to this time last year. In fact, the Niro Hybrid is already our fifth best selling car, only a few months after going on sale. And now a new Plug-in Hybrid powertrain is available on Niro."
Its turbocharged 1.0-litre, three-cylinder T-GDI engine will produce 118 horsepower, with additional naturally aspirated 1.25-litre and 1.4-litre four-cylinder options next to it, reports say. A 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel will also join the petrol models, reports add.
The Stonic's price is rumoured to start at £14,000 (€15,548; $18,600).
