Russian ambassador to Austria Sergej Netschajew was among the thousands who gathered at the Schwarzenbergplatz memorial site in Vienna, Friday, to commemorate those who died during WWII ahead of Saturday's V-Day celebrations. Participants, flanked by an honorary guard, laid wreaths and flowers at the foot of the monument to pay their respects to the soldiers who lost their lives during WWII. Hundreds of similar commemorative services will take place throughout Europe from Friday to Saturday for the 70th anniversary of World War II's Victory Day.
