German car manufacturer BMW unveiled the all new Concept M4 GTS and 3.0 CSL Hommage R during an event at the BMW Villa in Pebble Beach, California, on Friday. Designers of the Concept M4 GTS aimed to decrease weight and increase power in comparison to the standard BMW M4. With the help of a water injection cooling system, a carbon fibre reinforced plastic bonnet, and an adjustable splitter and wing parts, the 3.0 litre Turbo engine of the Concept M4 GTS looks likely to surpass the 425 horsepower of the M4. The car was painted in matte-gray with subtle orange accents and will be available for sale in limited numbers. Earlier in 2015 BMW released the 3.0 CSL Hommage to mark the 40th anniversary of the 3.0 CSL racing car that won the Sebring endurance race in 1975. After mixed responses to the first model, the car manufacturer has come back with the 3.0 CSL Hommage R. Designers reportedly created a hi-tech driver's helmet, which contains an internal screen in the visor to display the speed, gear and engine rev of the car, and suit before designing the interior of the vehicle. The Hommage R is purpose-built for the race track with a lightweight frame made almost entirely from carbon fibre. Still in the concept stage of development, the Hommage R is not yet available for purchase. BMW's CEO and president Ludwig Willisch, chief designer Karim Habib, vice-president of Corporate Communications of the Americas Alexander Bilgeri, and vice-president of Research and Development Dirk Haecker were all present during the presentation.
